What is Internal Affairs?

The Internal Affairs (IA) Department is focused specifically on overseeing adherence to in-game roleplay (RP) standards and protocols set by department handbooks, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), or direct orders from department leadership. The primary purpose of IA is to ensure that all members within the server’s various departments are conducting themselves in line with established guidelines and expectations.

When a report is filed to IA, they assess if the alleged behavior constitutes a breach of departmental procedures or standing orders. If so, they investigate to verify the legitimacy of the claim. This may involve reviewing evidence, consulting witnesses, and cross-referencing the actions taken with existing SOPs or direct orders. IA’s scope is strictly limited to handling in-character procedural and conduct issues and does not include dealing with general rule infractions, cases of admin abuse, or technical issues like bugs or suggestions.

This specialized focus allows IA to streamline its resources and investigations toward upholding the roleplay integrity of each department, ultimately contributing to a more cohesive and immersive in-game experience.

How do I file a report?

There is a channel in the Government Discord labeled #internal-affairs. Follow the instructions there to open a ticket. The only valid forms of evidence are video recordings, screenshots, and staff logs. 

Who does IA investigate?

Internal Affairs is responsible for investigating claims specifically involving members of Low and High Command. This includes examining incidents where these command-level personnel may have violated direct orders, SOPs, or other established standards of conduct within the roleplay environment. However, if a player files a report with IA regarding enlisted personnel or supervisory staff, IA will not directly handle the case but will instead guide the player to the appropriate department or authority responsible for handling such matters. 

This ensures that IA’s resources are dedicated to investigating higher-level command issues, while still providing a pathway for players to address concerns about other ranks by connecting them to the correct channels. However, if players would like to escalate an issue, they may still file a report with Internal Affairs. 

How do I join Internal Affairs?

Internal Affairs is composed of members who are specifically selected by the Senior Management Team (SMT). Membership in IA is currently by invitation only, meaning that players cannot apply or request to join. Instead, the SMT carefully evaluates and hand-picks individuals based on criteria such as trustworthiness, dedication, and discretion. If a player is considered for IA, they will be directly contacted by the SMT regarding the opportunity. This selective process ensures that IA maintains a high level of integrity and professionalism in its oversight role.
